Hello DCC Members,
The DCC Board held an election during the End of Season Banquet on Friday, March 18 to elect new members to the DCC Board of directors to each serve 3-year terms. Congratulations to:
- Jason Kraus
- Margie Nelson
- Jesse Trelstad
We know you will do a tremendous job serving the club!
The board would like to thank all the nominees for running for the board and look forward to another great season in 2022-23.
Board Retirements
We would also like to thank retiring board member, Jon Peterson, for serving for 7 years on the board, and for 3 years as board secretary. Jon was efficient, concise, and very organized. He was the perfect person to serve as the board note taker.
Tony Lasky is stepping down from the board after 15 years of service on the board of directors. Tony served the last 4 years as President and prior to that, he served as Vice President for 4 years. Some of the highlights of his tenure on the board:
- The curling floor was replaced
- The kitchen and bar were replaced
- The downstairs had a new modern look with fresh paint, new carpet, and new tables and chairs
- The boardroom was redone with a new conference table and a new way to display the pictorial history of the club
- Tony says he would prefer to forget about the ice plant failing multiple times and Covid-19 happening
Club Donation
The DCC would also like to thank Daryl Carlson for his generous cash donation to purchase cameras, monitors, and vital equipment to show sheets 1-4 via the webcam for those wanting to see more curling action, or watching someone practice.
Daryl is also donating the ongoing costs for the bandwidth needed to have the ability to run that many cameras at the same time. Daryl said that the curling club has been his family for 40 years and he wanted to do something to give back to the club.
Thank you, Daryl, you are awesome!
A huge thank you to all our members for a successful and fun curling season.
Good curling!
