Get involved, earn rocks, and have fun doing it! The Duluth Curling Club offers a variety of volunteer opportunities.
Volunteers earn “rocks” for each activity they complete. Those rocks add up to end-of-season rewards like entry to our VIP party and VIP raffle drawings. After earning your first two rocks, you’ll also receive our exclusive VIP pin.

How to Earn Rocks?
Rocks are earned by volunteering at any DCC event where help is needed for a minimum of one hour, with the exception of Pebbling and Nipping. Each volunteer opportunity is assigned a level based on the time commitment and its value to the club.
LEVEL 1 — Pebble & Nip (Worth ¼ Rock)
- Anytime you pebble or nip, please place an “X” next to your name in the VIP binder located on the table by the ice door.
LEVEL 2 — Quick Events (Worth 2 Rocks)
- Instruct at a Learn-to-Curl event
- Work the door for Hockey Night
- Volunteer to help with various jobs at a bonspiel
LEVEL 3 — Special Projects (Worth 5 Rocks)
- Serving on a committee
- Special club projects
- Leading a portion of a bonspiel (e.g., organizing the raffle, etc.)
- Serving as a league commissioner
LEVEL 4 — Leadership (Worth 10 Rocks)
- Organizing a bonspiel
- Apprenticing on a bonspiel (shadowing the event organizer to lead the event the next year)
- Instructing Juniors for the season
- Serving on the DCC Board
What are ROCKS worth?
Rocks add up throughout the year, and are rewarded with end-of-the-year rewards. The Rocks add up to entry into our end of the year VIP party, entries into our VIP raffles at the party

10+ ROCKS
- Entry to our VIP Exclusive Party this Spring
- 5 entries into VIP Raffle
ROCKS earned beyond 10 will translate into more VIP Raffle entries
